About
Our product
Our Viana line is produced in a family-run and tradition-oriented
Ceramics manufactured in Portugal. The raw material for this tableware is a sedimentary rock that occurs exclusively in a small region of northern Portugal. This deposit is caused by deposits in valleys along river systems, especially the Douro. Northern Portugal is particularly rich in limestone and sandstone.
The unique properties of the sedimentary rock give Viana tableware its characteristic pigmentation and structure. The rough texture is also a result of the rock. Glazing completes the aesthetics of the plates and cups – this is done lovingly and traditionally by hand.
The stone not only gives Viana products their special appearance.
Sediments are also the reason for the particularly high quality of Viana products. The properties that contribute to the high quality of the tableware are:
- high durability
- the water impermeability
- high temperature resistance in the oven up to 240 ºC
- high resistance to temperature changes (from hot to cold or vice versa)
- high resistance to wear in the dishwasher

About
Our producer
The ceramic products of miñota ceramics are mostly manufactured in a ceramics studio in the north of Portugal.
This family business has over 30 years of experience in tableware manufacturing and hand-painting. Each piece is fired at high temperatures, is highly durable, and has low porosity. The glazing of our products is "feito à mão" (made by hand).
Our tableware combines a close connection to nature with timeless design. Clean, traditional shapes meet an aesthetic reminiscent of the Portuguese coastal landscape.
